My name is Rick Urso, and I would like to introduce myself as Owner/Operator of Hi-Tech Auto Specialists along with my Leadership Team Ricky Urso and Melissa Robinson. We are a family-owned business I started back in 1985. Prior to this endeavor I was recruited from Southern Illinois University by Bendix Aerospace and worked as a Product Support Engineer. My responsibilities, product line support and customers were challenging and rewarding yet I needed more.
I decided to become an entrepreneur and test my childhood experience and passion for auto vehicle repair. I purchased a franchise muffler license and built my first repair center in Westchester. Ten years later I purchased my second repair center in Oak Lawn. After thirty-five years as a franchisee, and much experience and knowledge, I created my Independent Repair Centers known today as Hi-Tech Auto Specialists. Since 2020, Hi-Tech Auto Specialists has collectively raised the bar to a more competitive, professional, and trustworthy one-stop repair center offering auto and light truck repairs and maintenance. We have the latest equipment, knowledge and skilled technicians, with combined experience over 150 years, to solve all concerns on a variety of make and models for gas, diesel and hybrid automobiles and trucks.
Visit either of our Oak Lawn or Westchester locations and allow our staff, Ricky, Melissa and Chad, to provide a detailed digital inspection report with photos and/or videos sent to your mobile device via text or e-mail. This allows complete transparency and confidence in our inspection process to get your vehicle safely back on the road.

After 40 years in business, I have officially retired as of June 17, 2025. I am confident in my son Ricky to carry second generation ownership for continued growth and customer service to all our existing and new customers including Fleet Customers. Melissa, Chad and the entire staff will continue their great service. I am forever grateful to my entire staff for their dedication and the excellent service they have provided to you the customer.
